Musing with Marc Minter
This is where I publish my pastoral writings and academic work, as well as some stories, thoughts, and public arguments.
Thanks for reading MarcMinter’s Substack!
In 2002, I began my journey into a life of public Christian vocation. I joined a parachurch ministry with the mission of evangelism from the platform of events in partnership with local churches. For a decade, my job was public Christian witness through speaking in both large and small settings.
In 2012, my public and vocational Christian life turned more decidedly toward the local church. I joined the staff, as a pastor, of a middle-sized Evangelical and Baptist church in North Texas. Two years later, I became the senior pastor of a small and rural Baptist church in East Texas. As a pastor my job has been local church shepherding and leading, maintaining a public Christian witness through preaching, teaching, and writing.
My academic interests are heavily influenced by my pastoral philosophy and ecclesiology (i.e., doctrine of the church); specifically, historical theology, Baptist history, Baptist distinctives, and Baptist political theology.
I regularly produce content for my congregation, for use in other churches, for public engagement with matters related to Christianity and church-life, and for academic engagement with primary sources and contemporary discussions. This Substack is where I both publish and archive most of my content.
Subscription to Marc Minter’s Substack will ensure that you are notified when new content is posted, that you have access to all archived content, and that you are helping to support the research and publication of even more content in this arena.
Thanks for reading! And thanks for subscribing!
